The first minus was in 2005. My hubby, Ram, had tongue cancer. Then, while we were anxiously waiting out his 5th anniversary, in Feb 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was the second minus in our life…

Both of us and my one and only son, Girish, are quite active and love watching soccer…all die-hard Liverpool fans. With the help of my hubby and son, I went through the lengthy chemo followed by Herceptin sessions, and am now on Tamoxifen. In Feb 2011, I happened to come across Li Leng’s post on Facebook on the Pink Spartans. I immediately got in touch with her and was introduced to Angie and the Pink Spartans. And that, is the “Plus” in our life…..

In no time did we ever regret joining this happy, crazy group who call themselves “Pink Spartans” and their supporter. God bless them, they really bring so much love and happiness to us! And not forgetting the non-stop talking and laughter. And oh, can anyone even think that at such an age (50s to 70s), the Pink Spartans, besides dragon boating, have also taken up Pole Dancing! Thanks to Li Leng, we are enjoying ourselves, never mind the pain and bruises!!!

When my hubby and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary recently, guess who we invited? Of course, this life-loving bunch of people who made our minus and minus become PLUS! We hope we’ve also made a difference in their lives.
